FAQs

  • Adhoc Therapy currently offers individual therapy, family therapy, couples therapy, and specialized sessions such as ADHD Executive Functioning Coaching and Parent Coaching.

  • This is a very individualized question but generally speaking, you may benefit from therapy if you are experiencing a lot of challenges from mental health reasons, have tried different ways to change with little to no success, or feel like you need a trusted professional who can help you out. You can always schedule a consultation with us and we can help guide the way.

  • The first session, usually called the intake session, is all about getting to know you. For us to best support you, we want to get to know you first. Examples of things you may talk to your therapist about are your symptoms, what goals you have in mind, your history of treatment, and BioPsychoSocial information (e.g. your health, career history, education, etc.)

  • We are not in-network with any insurance right now and can only do out-of-pocket. Our fees for therapy is $250 for licensed therapists and $200 for associate therapists.

  • Telehealth therapy is an awesome way to do therapy because you get to do it in the comfort of your own home via a secure video tele-conferncing platform (kinda like zoom).

  • Each therapy session lasts 50-minutes long and the 10-minutes are reserved for wrapping up sessions or managing a crisis.

  • We request at least 24-hours of notice if you are not able to make it to our session. We try to be as accommodating as we can and if we will try to accommodate a rescheduling if possible.

  • Confidentiality is something we take very seriously. To ensure that, we use a HIPAA-compliant means of communication such as encrypted G-mail and communication platform, have an encrypted electronic health record system called Simple Practice, and ensure we are up-to-date with our training for confidentiality compliance.

  • Depending on your clinician, you can choose to be in-person or telehealth, depending on what you think may fit you best.

  • You may text, call, or email your clinician to cancel. Simple Practice also has a way to cancel your session.

  • We suggest that you attend a therapy session as comfortably as you can be.  It may also be beneficial to help prepare before the session such as reflecting on specific pain points your experienced or how you did with the goals you set in therapy.

  • To have an optimal telehealth session, be in a confidential and quiet environment where you can be free from distractions or disturbances from other people, ensure you have a strong internet connection, and we suggest you wear headphones to really be in the zone.

  • Depending on the clinician, we DO offer evening and weekend appointments.
